I am the product of mid-Saskatchewan lakes and grainfields, raised by broad rolling southwestern grasslands. I am not a city person. I have a B.S.A. and a B.Ed. with minors in theology, landscape architecture, and a major in wonder. I taught Arts Ed, ELA and Creative Writing, among the many subjects that land on your plate as a rural teacher (apologies to my Physics classes – I did my best). I enjoy birding, rock-hounding, hunting and fishing, and my closet has Raptors, Blue Jays, Riders and Vikings gear. I run in the summer and snowshoe in the winter.

While I enjoy photography and pencil work, writing has always been the creative outlet that – however frustrating and challenging at times – puts me at peace with myself. I play with poetry and have published several short stories. Currently I am working on a humorous novel, Welcome to Sloughbottom.
